The weather

Faz and Arlene have decided that the weather has been quite strange lately.

The other day, as the couple laid in their back yard trying to get a tan, Arlene was overheard saying "Faz, I want to go inside, its freezing". To this, Faz responded with "Arlene, I know it is cold now, but I'll bet that in 2 days the temperature will be over 20 degrees warmer than it is right now".

Arlene laughed at this notion, as the temperature at the time they were trying to tan was a balmy -13 degrees celcius. She started to make fun of Faz, who decided it was time to give his wonderful wife a facewash. Immediatly post-facewash, Faz had to run for cover as his beautiful wife turned into a very angry person, who was upset that Faz had removed her SPF-500 while facewashing her. In the end, Arlene waited to exact her revenge on Faz until he was sleeping. Unfortunately for Faz, a shovel full of snow isn't condusive to sleep.

2 days after Faz made the weather prediction, the temperature was 8 degrees celcius.

Faz is plotting his next move, which he anticipates will involve the fetching of a pail of water, the breaking of a crown, and much tumbling after.

Editor's note: Never mess with Arlene when it comes to snow.

The new job

Faz and Arlene are happy to announce that Faz has started a new job.

Faz's first few days have been pretty boring, with not much other than reading on the agenda. He is looking forward to the arrival of his company laptop, which has been billed to be 'the latest and greatest' of Dell's lineup. It is with this laptop that Faz will work diligently, as there is no internet at his new place of work.

The weather on the other hand - a little more exciting.

Faz's father has been nice enough to lend Faz and Arlene his car for the week while the couple anxiously waits for their car to arrive in Edmonton. On today's drive, Faz was faced with freezing rain and snow. A good set of Bridgestone Blizzak tires on the car helped Faz make it home safely today. Yesterday's drive included a detour that added over 70 minutes to Faz's commute (due to a freak accident). With any luck, tomorrow will have better weather for Faz to navigate.

Arlene has a big exam on Friday, so if anyone wants to do a little prayer or something for her, feel free - they would appreciate it. She has been busy studying for this particular exam, so there isn't much new with her except her cute new friends: sine, cosine, tangent, secant, and cotangent. Faz hopes to take secant out for dinner after Arlene is done spending time with her, but secant keeps reciprocating with cos, so Faz isn't sure that he wants to spend too much time with her.

By the way, math jokes are funny and the internet is nice to have at work.

The car and the flight home

Faz rented a car from Hertz-rent-a-car for the duration of his trip to Eastern Canada.

While Faz was excited to get his trip moving, the particular car that he had rented had other plans for Faz's adventure, eventually consuming the adventure into itself. The 2004 Buick LeSabre had many problems, one of which included windshield wipers that didn't work. This would normally not be a problem, but the freezing rain between Toronto and Montreal made it a large one.

The couple would like to thank Hertz-rent-a-car for the deep discount that they gave Faz and Arlene, but would not like to extend that same appreciation for their lack of help or concern during Faz's journey. Faz and Arlene may never rent from Hertz-rent-a-car ever again and suggest that you make sure you check your car (and all of its equipment) before you rent a car from them. The couple will let you know if Hertz makes them a deal to retract this posting.

The couple has some new news and they feel that it is pretty exciting.

Everyone's favorite couple are now the proud new owners of a lightly used Honda Accord. The car is silver in color and drives quite nicely, if you ask Faz. The couple hopes to fill the car with their friends and family at the next opportunity, so if you have some free time (or just need a ride), send the couple an email to arrange a time.

Disclaimer: the couple is not guaranteeing that you will get a ride, just that they may consider giving you one - depending on who you are.

Sorry for the delay with posting

Faz and Arlene would sincerely like to apologize for not having their website updated.

During the past few days, Faz has been quite ill and Arlene has been tending to him. As this has taken up most of their time, the couple has not met with their 'people' to discuss any recent adventures.

In any case, Faz is in Montreal this week and is staying with some friends that the couple made while on vacation in early December named Hugo and Carl. Faz is looking forward to hanging out with his friends in Montreal despite the cool weather. Faz has reported that the temperature actually isn't that cold, but the humidity makes the temperature feel much colder then Faz would feel with the same temperature in Edmonton.

Arlene has reported that the temperature in Edmonton will be a balmy -28 degrees celcius tomorrow morning, so she hopes that the mild -1 degree celcius that Faz is enjoying will end shortly.

The Stones at Wal-Mart

Last night, Faz and Arlene decided to go to the Wal-Mart in their area with Faz's parents.

This day was unusual compared to others, as Faz took some pain medication to relieve the mild pain that he was having from his kidney. As the couple arrived at the store, Faz's pain became much more intense, with the level increasing from 4 to 10 (out of 10) during the first few minutes that the couple walked around. Instead of going home, Faz decided to sit down and wait out the pain.

Arlene, not wanting to sit around, silently went to get a electric cart that the store had around to help people with reduced mobility move around their store. She presented Faz with the cart, who was overjoyed that he could sit and still hang out with his family. The cart was fantastic for the following reasons: it had a basket up front, a horn, and a beeper that beeped when Faz was in reverse.

Faz had fun on the cart and played chicken with an older man who was on another electric cart. The man's resolve quickly faded with Faz's cart bearing down on him. The man jumped off his cart and out of the way. Faz realized the cart was unoccupied, so he swerved to avoid the empty cart. Faz made it safely, but the man's cart smashed into a display of 'fine' Wal-Mart 'crystal'. The older gentleman is fine, but he's pretty mad at his son Faz.

The couple is currently looking for a way to make Faz's dream of Wal-Mart electric cart racing come true. A Wal-Mart spokesperson has been contacted, but has declined to make any comments about the racing schedule at this time.
